Online check-in
Guests check in on their own booking page before arrival, with the same steps and rules as the reception kiosk. At the desk you only hand over the key.
With online check-in on, each guest's booking page offers Check in online from 3 days before arrival. They do the same steps as at the reception kiosk, checked by the same rules, on their own phone. No kiosk is needed.
Turn it on
Open Settings → Reception and switch on Online check-in on the stay page. It uses that page's settings: how the ID is checked and the hotel's terms.
Online check-in is part of the Essentials plan and up. It isn't on the Free plan.
What the guest does
- Their details: the ones your country's rules ask for (for example full name, nationality and ID number).
- Their ID: a photo of their passport or ID card, where your country allows it and you ticked Photo in the ID settings; or "I'll show it at the desk".
- Your terms: they read them and sign with a finger (only when you've written terms).
- The payment: by card on Stripe's page (when Stripe is connected), or at the desk on arrival.
- Finish online check-in.
Details and ID photos are encrypted, and deleted after the time your country asks, exactly like at the kiosk.
At arrival
- On the Front Desk page, the guest shows Checked in online on today's arrivals.
- Their booking shows a green box: Checked in online: hand over the key, with what was done (details given, ID photo received or to check at the desk, terms signed, paid or to pay at the desk). The activity log says what is left.
- Check the guest in as usual, take the ID or payment if they chose the desk, and hand over the key.
At the reception kiosk, a guest who checked in online finds every step done and goes straight to the room and key.
Nothing happens before arrival
Online check-in doesn't give a room or change the booking's status. The booking stays Confirmed until the guest is checked in at the desk or the kiosk.
